Unisa History:

Founded in 1973 in Spain, the footwear and accessories brand Unisa caters to women who enjoy a relaxed style. The original concept of a small family footwear export company shifted quickly to become a manufacturer of women's shoes and accessories covering Spain and the rest of Europe. Product Development and Sourcing Director Carlos Musso and Retail Manager Antonio Porta were responsible for this shift in direction. 

A large contributor to the success of Unisa was its move to hire top designers from outside of Spain to keep the brand fresh and to review and implement trends in their designs. The small label took inspiration from the relaxed nature of the Spanish lifestyle, its designs are characterised by a mainstream look with a relaxed vibe.

In 1989 the brand again changed direction and UNISA Europe separated from its American partner to create a collection that would appeal more to its European customers. This gamble paid off with an amazing initial reception across France and Germany. Since then the brand was stocked in many large European Department stores leading to rapid growth.
